As an expert in electric heating and industrial safety measurement, I must emphasize that temperature monitoring in flammable and explosive environments is a high-risk link related to on-site safety. In chemical plants, coal mines, oil and gas stations, fuel storage areas and other places with explosive gas, steam or dust, non-standard use of sensors is very likely to produce electric sparks, high-temperature surfaces and other ignition sources, leading to combustion, explosion and other major safety accidents. This paper focuses on the safety specifications and mandatory requirements for the use of explosion-proof temperature sensors, and provides authoritative and compliant guidance for safe operation in hazardous areas. First of all, the core principle of flammable and explosive occasions is: must use Ex-certified explosion-proof temperature sensors, and it is strictly prohibited to replace them with ordinary sensors. Ordinary sensors cannot control sparks and surface temperatures during operation and fault, and will become a direct source of ignition in explosive environments. Only sensors with formal Ex explosion-proof certification, including intrinsically safe type and flameproof type, can meet the safety requirements of Zone 0, Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas. The explosion-proof rating must match the on-site hazardous medium and level, which is the most basic safety threshold. Secondly, the installation and wiring must be strictly implemented in accordance with national explosion-proof specifications. All wiring terminals and cable inlet holes must use special explosion-proof sealing joints to ensure complete sealing and isolation, so as to prevent flammable gas from entering the internal circuit of the sensor. The cable shall adopt special explosion-proof armored cable, and the laying shall avoid mechanical damage and open lines. All wiring operations must be carried out under complete power failure to avoid arc generation. In use, it is strictly prohibited to disassemble, modify, weld or replace parts of the explosion-proof sensor without authorization. The explosion-proof structure of the sensor is a precision design. Any disassembly will destroy the flameproof joint surface and sealing performance, resulting in the failure of the explosion-proof function. At the same time, the surface temperature of the sensor must be monitored in real time to ensure that it is lower than the ignition point of the on-site medium, so as to avoid high-temperature ignition. In terms of daily management, explosion-proof sensors need regular inspection, focusing on the integrity of the shell, sealing parts and signs, and timely replacement of damaged parts. In strict compliance scenarios, explosion-proof certificates and installation records must be complete for safety inspection and audit. Any sensor with damaged explosion-proof performance must be stopped immediately and replaced with a new qualified product. In hazardous environments, safety is the bottom line that cannot be retreated. Using certified explosion-proof temperature sensors in accordance with specifications is not only a compliance requirement, but also a fundamental guarantee to protect the safety of personnel and equipment. As a professional electric heating technology team, we remind all users to strictly abide by explosion-proof specifications and build a solid safety line for temperature monitoring.111
